The ticket

Half-figure of a Young Woman is a work on paper by Gustav Klimt (Austrian, Baumgarten 1862–1918 Vienna), dated 1918. Graphite. Size on the museum record: 22 3/8 x 14 11/16 in. (56.9 x 37.3 cm). The Metropolitan Museum of Art holds it in its Drawings and Prints collection — Gift of Sir John Pope-Hennessy, 1982.

The Met released its scan under CC0, which means no permission, no fee and no credit line required. That file is 2,485 × 3,753 pixels — 9.3 megapixels — good for a gallery-sharp print up to 8.3 × 12.5 in. The work on paper itself measures about 14.7 × 22.4 in, so a true life-size print runs below 300 dpi — still sharp at normal viewing distance.Works on paper are quiet. Print near the original’s size rather than blowing it up, mat it generously, and keep it out of direct sun — the same rules the museum follows for the real one.
