The story
Munch wrote that he was walking at sunset when the sky turned blood red and he felt an infinite scream passing through nature. Then he painted the feeling instead of the sky, which is the whole innovation.
It is a hard piece to live with in a bedroom and a great piece to live with in a kitchen, a stairwell, or anywhere you pass quickly. It works as a punchline and then keeps working after the punchline wears off.
Go bigger than feels reasonable. Half-size reproductions turn it into a fridge magnet.
