Printing this set

Older works often carry craquelure, darkened varnish and uneven edges in the scan. That is the object, not a flaw in the file, so print true to the scan instead of brightening it.

The largest scan in this set is The Ambassadors by Hans Holbein the Younger, at 30,000 × 29,560 pixels (886.8 MP): 100 × 98.5 in at 300 dpi, or 200 × 197.1 in at poster sharpness. Every file links to the museum's own CC0 original, and every page has a size chart against standard frames.

Not sure what fits your wall? The wall fitter sizes a frame to your furniture and shows which of these works fill it with or without a mat.
